Share your best RBR in action picture to win a Lego Endurance model

Share your best photo on LinkedIn of an RBR instrument at work before 30 November 2026 for a chance to take home a LEGO model of Shackleton’s famous ship. Two runners-up will win RBR swag.

Some of the best photos of RBR instruments aren’t taken by us. They’re taken by you: on the back deck in a swell, through a hole in the sea ice, halfway up a mooring line, or on a lab bench at 2am before a deployment.

We’d love to see them. So we’re running a photo competition, and the prize is one we’ve had trouble keeping our own hands off: a LEGO model of Endurance, the ship Sir Ernest Shackleton sailed south in 1914.

It felt like the right prize. Shackleton’s family motto was “By endurance we conquer”, and it’s one RBR instruments live by too. They’re designed to be power-efficient from the component level up, so you can measure longer: through a full season, a winter under the ice, or a year on a mooring. We’d love to see where that endurance has taken you.

How to enter

  1. Post your best photo of an RBR instrument in action on LinkedIn.

  2. Tag @RBR in the post text and add #RBRinAction.

  3. Tell us a little about it: where, when, and what you were measuring.

Not on LinkedIn? Email your photo to marketing@rbr-global.com with the same details and we’ll share it on your behalf, with your permission.

What we’re looking for

Any photo featuring an RBR instrument doing its job. Deployments, recoveries, moorings, floats, gliders, under-ice work, and the occasional instrument covered in something it shouldn’t be. Old favourites from the archive are welcome too.

RBR in action photo competition: terms and conditions

We don’t want to get caught up in legal jargon that nobody reads anyway, so let’s keep it simple.

  • The competition runs from 13 October to 11:59pm ET on 30 November 2026. No sooner, no later.

  • Anyone can enter, because we love everyone’s photos. But if you work for RBR, you can’t win. Obviously. (Don’t worry, RBR folks can still play with the one we’ve already built in the office.)

  • Just post a photo of an RBR instrument in action on LinkedIn, tag RBR’s company page (@RBR) in the post, and include #RBRinAction. Not on LinkedIn? Send it to marketing@rbr-global.com with your name, organisation, and a short description of the photo, and we’ll post it for you.

  • Enter as many photos as you like, old or new.

  • Please only send photos you took yourself or have permission to share. And remember privacy: don’t include anyone who doesn’t want the world (or their old instrument supplier) seeing them beam at their RBR.

  • As well as making us very happy, your photos might be ones we’d love to use again. If so, we’ll ask you first. If you say no, that’s OK – we can still be friends. If you say yes, we’ll say “yay” and give you proper credit.

  • A small group at RBR, who love these competitions nearly as much as the marketing team does, will pick the winner based on the picture and the story it tells.

  • The winner gets a very cool 3000-piece LEGO® model of Shackleton’s famous ship Endurance. It’s a brand-new one, not the one we excitedly built ourselves, and we’ll “ship” it wherever you are in the world. Two runners-up will get some RBR swag too.

  • We’ll announce the winners on 7 December 2026, so the prize will hopefully arrive in time for Christmas.

  • We’ve tried to keep it simple and fun. If you have any questions, reach out to the team at marketing@rbr-global.com.

  • The boring clause: this photo competition is run by RBR Ltd, Kanata, Canada. It isn’t sponsored or endorsed by LinkedIn or the LEGO Group. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group.

Good luck, and we can’t wait to see where your instruments have been since they left us.
